Spoils of Volunteering in the Herb Garden

I get to pick basil.  All kinds, for free.  This allows us to make great food such as pesto and tomato & basil soup.  Last night’s dinner was tomato and basil soup, using basil from the Herb Garden at ASU and tomatoes from our garden.  We had some leftovers and made a ghetto rustic dehydrator to sun-dry them.  We used other herbs from our garden to make Italian herb bread for grilled cheese sandwiches; the only thing we didn’t make was the cheese.  It was very good : )

UPDATED for President Obama’s address on immigration: Pretty words veiling the same tired excuses.  The Deportee’s Wife was right, no change here!
